Porting phone number

 I just referred a friend and she went to London drugs and had the set up all done but he says the phone is still not working and the numbers not ported??

I did get a text saying that the referral had gone through. He's telling me that the phone does work but not with his old number. It has a different number. So we will check the helpful information you have provided in the previous replies

If has been more than 2 hours to port a cell# then have them submit a ticket by clicking on the question mark on the bottom right.

@Public5574  You friend also needs to make sure her phone is unlocked.

@Public5574 what does the phone say when the  SIM is inserted? What's the make and model of your friends phone? Thanks. You should have your friend create a community account and let us help them directly. Stay safe.

@Public5574 , one thing you could do is go to your self serve account and take a look at the rewards tab and see if you have posted a referral.  If so, the activation has likely completed and the problem is waiting for a port to complete.

Number porting is a 2 stage process:
Stage 1. After submitted your porting request, PM set up your old number on your PM account. Login to your account. Select the [Plan and Add-Ons] tab. Is your old number showing on the [Plan and Add-Ons] display?
If yes, PM has done its work to setup your old number for you to call out, send text and data.
If no, you should create a support ticket for moderator to investigate. Moderator wait time is up to 2 - 3 days or more.

Stage 2. Now, you are waiting for your old provider to release you number to PM. Not until your old provider release your number, all the incoming calls and texts will continue to go to your old provider.

Do outgoing calls work? If not, the activation did not occur properly or the phone is not compatible.
