Hi I signed up to public mobile earlier today, trying to port my number and got this message from public:
Hey, it's Public Mobile. We're having trouble transferring your number. Looks like you entered an incorrect ESN/MEID. Someone from our team will contact you shortly using your original phone number or the alternate number provided. You can also get in touch via our virtual assistant at: https://publicmobile.ca.ada.support/chat
I have data on the public sim and can make outgoing calls but that's it , can't send/recieve texts or receive calls. Tried to submit a ticket but keep getting an error page .
Thanks for any help

Thanks. I just set the wife's up, I used the account number instead of the IMEI hopefully it goes through ok, I replied yes, waiting now to see if it's gonna go through , she has an esim spot on her phone so will be using that for the public mobile.

I called the number. He checked the IMEI number which was correct so it wasn't that being wrong , he used the account number from my old provider and put the port through again.
Took another wait if half hour or so I thought it might have have failed again but looks like it has all gone through now I got a message from public saying to restart phone and I can send and receive calls and texts.
Thanks for everyone's help , now I'm going to set the wife's phone up and port her number to public so I hope this one runs a bit smoother lol

I said yes. But I can still make call and texts with my old providers sim and I can still receive calls on my old providers sim.

When you ported your number over to Public Mobile from the other provider, did you wait for the confirmation text from them to say YES? If not, it may not go through and you may need to call the number @Handy1 will send to you. If you haven't said yes then you may need to put your old service provider's SIM card back in your phone and then call the number. After you say YES... wait for the service providers name to disappear from the top of your phone. Try making a call and if you can't, the number is ported. Then stick your PM SIM in the phone, reboot, go to Network Settings and remove automatic and choose Public Mobile. Reboot one more time and you should be set.
BTW, my buddy Ross had a pager with the number 55-Jimbo... the pages he used to get. WOW!
