Can anyone please help? I want to port my number to my new provider but am currently unable to receive or send text messages from my old number to confirm I want the number ported. Thx

WHY you cannot receive SMS? If you are out of country you cannot port out until you are back.
If current sim is broken or whatever you have to get new SIM, transfer number and then continue with porting out process.

you are porting out? account must be active to port out the number as the text authorization is critical. If it is an sim issue, put the physical sim to a working phone, if it is esim, you need to rebuy one
if account is suspended, you need to resume service
