Hey @E1
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your landline port !
If you're home phone is still ringing, the port is not complete because Shaw has not yet confirmed/acknowledged it. Assuming the information entered was correct, Shaw should have accepted it within a few business days and the account would have been automatically deactivated. PM is not liable for any charge that Shaw applies as they are the ones who denied it. However, we'll look into it for you and figure it out !
Can you please provide me with the following information by private message ?
- The phone number you ported
- Shaw account number
- complete service and billing address of your Shaw services
- The complete name on the Shaw account
I look forward to your reply,
Mary

If your landline still rings when you call it from your cell phone, the port is yet to complete no matter what PM/Shaw says.
One of the moderators will need to review it. It may be a while as I know a serious backlog of issues came in overnight.

Hi,
I recieved the text message on Saturday 17th September saying the port from shaw completed sucessfully.
But since then my shaw home phone was still active!
When i spoke to shaw last night they advised that PM should have confirmed that the phone line was to be cancelled.
As it stands i'm have been charged for the line being active from the 17th till yestesterday.
Shaw stated that PM should be liable for that charge.
Can @Mary_M or @Shazia_K help?
Thanks

Assuming the information provided is correct, the old service provider will acknowledge and accept the port within 24 business hours, then it takes another 24 business hours for it to complete.
In reality, it can take up to a week. Thanks @Luddite 🙂

Mary's timeframe is optimistic; landlines and voip have often been a week. Just keep answering your home phone when it rings. When the port in completes your cell phone will ring instead.

Hey @E1
thank you for reaching out to us !
Landline ports typically take about 24 to 48 hours to process, contrary to mobile ports.
Did you receive a text confirming that the port was not successful ?
Let us know, and we'll look into it for you.
