My data is working great, and I can receive photos but I am unable to send photos. I’ve attempted to change the APN settings, assuming that is the issue, but my phone won’t allow me to. I have the Essential Phone, but I can’t create a new APN, and I can’t change any settings in the current one.
The APN settings for Android I found, are nearly exactly the same as the ones already in my phone, so I’m not 100% sure that is the issue.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I am sincerely sorry for the confusion here, after looking into it more, I realized the issue was not on my end, but the person I was repeatedly attempting to send an MMS to. I only have a few people I actually text, as most prefer to use an app (What’s App or Messenger), so after this issue kept happening, it dawned on me that I hadn’t tried to send a photo to anyone else.
So this whole thing was never really an issue, as I was just having issues sending to one person (unfortunately I didn’t realize this before creating this post). My apologies to all! Thank you for taking your time to reply to me, even though it ended up being a non-issue.
I feel incredibly unintelligent now. 😂

@will13am Thank you for sharing that thread with me. I am not tech savvy, so I learned a few new things reading all of that. I have not tried rooting my phone, but I did try one of the other ways to get the APN to be edited, but it didn’t work. I have contacted the mods here, to see if they can fix it.
Honestly I didn’t even know what the CRTC was, I had to Google that one, but perhaps I’ll contact them about this as well, and I’ll let you know if they respond to me. As one poster said in that thread, if they’re going to take away our ability to change APN settings, than the service providers need to make sure those settings are accurate.
Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated!

@CrichtonC, here is the long thread on disabling the add APN function on android 8.1 devices including the essential phone. You can read all about the details of my interactions with the CRTC there. The OP seems to have done a lot better for himself. He got all sorts of money for his inconveniences which I don't understand. I don't have any issues with MMS at least not that I am aware of. Maybe you should go to the CRTC independently and report the impact to you as a result of the disable APN thing. Android 8 provides an easy way for carriers to specify whether to block the feature or not. If what Telus has said is to be believed, it seems like disable is the default. I have asked the CRTC whether this is sufficient to meet the wireless code or should carriers be required to ensure the feature is enabled in the hardware they sell. I have not heard back from them.

What version of Android are you running? I recall a thread stating that with the newest update son settings were locked. Not sure if it was the essential phone they were discussing or not though.
@will13am I think you were in that thread I was thinking of.
