Hello.
My son's got a Samsung phone and he is currently registered with Public Mobile.
However, his SIM card isnt working and it shows that we have to put in the PIN code for him.
We've tried the PIN that we put in last time, but didn't work out.
Could you please help us with this problem?

I think they are asking to put in the PIN I made during the account making, but I don't remember the PIN.
Your account PIN isn't for that.
The sim card PIN is 1234.
Anything else means that your phone isn't unlocked.

Sound like your phone is locked to a specific provider. Go to the Samsung site and initiate a chat session to get it unlocked for free. Just tell them you purchased the phone awhile back and is switched to a new provider and it is telling you it's locked. They will likely unlock it for free. I had 2 samsung phones unlock this way.

@ksrf2004 Your phone might be locked to the previous provider. You must get the Network Unlock PUK code from your previous provider.
If your phone is a Samsung you might be able to get an unlock code from the Samsung website via a chat
To start a live chat session from Samsung's Contact Us page: http://www.samsung.com/ca/info/contactus.html?CID=AFL-hq-mul-0813-11000170.
Hope this helps!

Can you tell us the word-for-word on-screen message? Did it say to enter the sim card's PIN when you put it in a different phone? Is it the phone's PIN after you unlock the screen? The other type of PIN it could be would be if it says "Enter SIM Network Unlock PIN". The last messages does mean that the phone is locked to a different carrier.

Is the Samsung phone locked to previous carrier? If so, you will need to contact other carrier to get the unlock cod (free service). Some people can also contact Samsung directly to get the code.
