@Luddite Cheers thanks for the explanation. I do often err on the side of caution but wth the need to contact the moderators to port any number atm because of the self serve option disabled I would think the risk = reward. But to each his own.
Can you edit the post above yours? Thx

@darlicious I subscribe to the "better safe than sorry" approach. PM has been known to fudge activation even though a port-in succeeds. Or, phone turns out to be locked.
This means no phone service at all until account/phone is repaired. NS_smiles is struggling with this situation now.
I wrote "be prepared" a long time ago and still recommend it, in spite of the improvements PM has made.

I'm curious why you would suggest using the temporary number option when porting numbers from a telus account thru the telus porting department to public mobile a telus owned company? Alan has suggested porting upon activation has greatly improved and only suggests using the temporary number option when porting numbers from koodo prepaid, landlines and voip providers.

@Pamdemers54 Yes you can. As mentioned port the secondary number first and the primary number last. Once the port of the primary account holder completes your Telus account will automatically close.

Yes. You can.
Double check the info before submit your port request. You do not want to port the wrong number to the wrong PM account.

@Pamdemers54 And pay attention to this announcement: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Announcements/Number-transfer-in-Self-Serve-impacted-....
The best approach to avoid all angst is to activate with a temporary number then port-in once you confirm PM service is working properly.
We'll be happy to welcome you aboard.
The good ship "PM Adventure".

@Pamdemers54 just make sure you port the add on and not the main phone first. Here's 4 articles on activation and porting and the Refer a friend reward if required:
1. What you require to activate https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/what-you-need-to-activate
2.How to activate https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/activation-account-set-up
3.How to port https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/choose-your-phone-number
4. Refer a friend https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/the-refer-a-friend-reward
Welcome to PM. Stay safe

Yes you can. You will require 2 separate accounts with PM (no joint accts offered) and you will also need to have 2 unique email addresses to create the PM accounts.
When you port the 1st number over, the other Telus account (number) will remain active at Telus. When you port the 2nd number over from Telus, that is when the Telus account will automatically be close.

Each PM phone number needs it's own account and it's own sim. Otherwise you can port to your new PM accounts from Telus.
