Phone plan in Mexico

Will be going to Mexico for a time this winter. How can I make phone calls (local Mexico or back to Alberta) starting at the Cancun airport and also along the Mayan coast? I have the Can/US/Mx 50 gig plan.

Also if you have the Canada 🇨🇦, us Mexico 🇲🇽 plan don't forget to turn on roaming

sound like you don't have a CAN/US/MEX plan? if not, there is no addon for roaming in Mex , and not worth to change to it for one one (as you might not get your current plan back)

So, look for travel esim or data sim locally

To use Public Mobile in Mexico, you must subscribe to a Canada-US-Mexico (CAN-US-MEX) plan before you leave, which provides service in all three countries. Once subscribed, your phone should automatically connect to a local partner network like AT&T in Mexico, but you can also try manually selecting a network or enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE) to ensure connectivity, as 3G networks are being shut down in Canada and has already shut down in the US. Mexico still has 3G.
