You can port your number from any provider to any provider with SOME restrictions. You can confirm your number can be ported using this link.

However, with this being said, if you are considering moving to Public Mobile, I would first download the app and sign up for the service. Make sure your calling in and out is working. Make sure your texting in an out is working. Make sure data is working up and down. Once that is all set and working correctly, THEN you can go into your account and port over the number from that service provider. You'll just need to keep their SIM card in the phone to get a text from them asking permission to port over. You'll have 90 minutes to respond to them.

@ Ues you do. You can do it at the point for porting or pick a temp number and transfer your number later.
