Hi, when I transfer my old number that has a QC area Code (438) to my new plan at Public Mobile in BC, can I keep my old number with the old QC area code?

Thank you

@JuliMax

As long as your phone # is portable after checking with the above link the only difference is the tax rate (Quebec=14.75% vs BC=12%). If you purchase Public Mobile payment vouchers in BC to pay for your services you will save the additional 2.75% over the Quebec tax rate.

More info on vouchers here....

Muskbird charges the tax rate based on your credit card billing address or payment method address (to the best of my knowledge).

HI @JuliMax

in PM, it does not matter your number and your location.  So, you can have a QC number ported in to your BC account

But sometimes, it is the number itself that has some limitation to be ported, check here to confirm

@JuliMax I don't think it will work and will likely cause problems. When moving to another province you should using the area codes associated with the province

yes you can,.  But remember PM charges tax by the area code of the phone number.  So, keeping a QC number means you will be charged QC rate and not BC rate
