Hi, For the last two days my phone is showing roaming now and doesn't get service at home unless I enable roaming. Once I am in town (Athabasca) it does find Public Mobile so I have 2 questions:
Is there a Telus tower not working north of Athabasca, AB that is causing my phone to roam to find other providers all of a sudden?
Also, if I allow it to roam so I can get some service, do I pay extra charges for this if it is within Canada or is it free?
Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, that map shows that there is a Telus tower west of us that seems to be down and based on all the other replies it looks like turning on roaming will be okay and I won't incur extra charges. Have a great day!

You might want to check to see if there is an outage where you are:

Since PM is prepaid, no extra or surprise charges.
You can check the cell tower map in your area:

Public mobile is a prepaid service, means if roaming is enabled and works , then ther will be no extra charges for now.
it’s possible that Public mobile is testing extended network on your areas,

hi @Leener15
first, PM is prepaid carrier and no extra charge, if roaming works, then leave it that way
it is true some part of BC and AB does not have good coverage and we can roam in Rogers EXT network for free
