Phone calls take a long time to connect

My wife and I both switched to Public Mobile about a month ago. As soon as we switched, we have both experienced issues with phone calls, both being made and received. Sometimes when the phone is answered, it works fine, but usually there is a delay of between 5-10 seconds before either part can hear the other. It is very frustrating, and making me consider switching away from Public Mobile. We have restarted our phones, but that hasn't resolved the issue. When we switched, we both went with the e-sim option, and I wonder if that could be related.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks - I've tried resetting the network connection, and calls seem to be ok now. Will see what happens the next time I get a call from someone external to my household. If still an issue, I'll try this next.

thanks for the help!!

thanks - I've tried this, as well as other comments. Based on a small sample of people in my house, phone is currently connecting right away. Hope this continues!!

hi @MarkBell1 you see LTE while you are on a call?  if you see that, you are using VoLTE.  Try changing the network mode to 3G and test calling, see if it connects faster

When I turn the wifi off it shows as LTE.

It happens everywhere. I'm usually at home, but it's happened other places as well. It's an issue with most/all numbers. Started happening exactly at the time we switched to PublicMobile.

does it happen everywhere you tried ? does it happen to all numbers you call or just particular number?

@MarkBell1

turn OFF wifi and dial a local number...does the call drop to 3G or does is show as 4G/LTE ?

hi @MarkBell1

the delay could be the phone trying to get the circuit

try Reset Network Settings and dial with a 1 in front of the 10 digits number
