Hi there, I need a copy of my phone bill to prove my BC residency. How can I receive this? Thank you.

@meels

Which bc agency is seeking proof of residency? If its msp or the like then its unlikely they will accept your account details as proof from a prepaid phone account it would have to be a post paid account.

  1. Do you have any other utilities bills? Gas, hydro, internet or tv?
  2. Do you get a bank or credit card statement by mail?
  3. Your notice of assessment from the CRA?
  4. Have you recieved the CERB, CRB or EI payments?
  5. A T-4 or other employment income or federal or provincial income source that includes a payment stub with your address on it?
  6. Drivers license or BCID card?
  7. Student ID or tuition reciepts?
  8. Voters registration card?

You could possibily pay a notary of the public to give you a declaration of your address as proof of residency.

Hi @macsal

Well that may be true, I think you would find that most government organizations requesting these kinds of things just need it to complete a “checkbox” on some application or eligibility form.

I suspect as long as the OP’s address on the statement shows a BC location, it’ll be more than sufficient for whatever purpose it is serving.

@meels ,

If whoever is asking for your cell phone bill as proof of residency then they do not understand the Public Mobile platform very well.

My name could be daffy duck, or anything at all, on my account. And showing incoming and outgoing calls is not proof of where you live.

Ideally a different utility company or credit card company showing your name and address is usually a better route for proof of residency.

Good luck!

 @meels : Due to the fact that your name and address are not verified here, it's not really proof of anything. Your phone usage details, maybe, but then you could have a friend use the phone in your province and you could be elsewhere. But if some authority will accept it then fine.

Hi @meels

Click on the little white bubble to the bottom right and request to deal with a public mobile moderator to request an account statement.

Just type Moderator and then specify Contact Us and then specify that you Need a human now. It will take you through a ticketing process to submit the request to the public mobile moderator team.
