Hi.
I want to become a customer of Public Mobile. Is my Samsung Galaxy a5 (2017) compatible with the network?
I tried to submit a ticket but the system won't let me. It says that all of the fields need to be completed. I've completed everything but it won't let me submit the ticket.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! 🙂

Thanks for that information. I appreciate it.
I'm not super tech savvy so I've been learning a lot about this stuff on the fly over the past few days.
You're right that getting a new phone by then totally makes sense. Would you also suggest that I get rid of my typewriter and finally get a computer?
PS: I'm just joking about having a typewriter. 🙂😂🤣

only Rogers networks getting rid of the 3G in March 2025
Bell and Telus has no formal date, and likely end of 2027. Honest, if your phone from 2017, you should really have a new phone by then. 🙂
So, 3G is not a problem for voice. Close to 50% of PM customers are still relying on 3G for voice

@Larrylovessocks Yes I’ve heard that too but I’ve also heard that it won’t be until 2027 possible later , but so long as the voLTE whitelist continues to grow then it won’t make any difference and by then your 2017 phone will be 10 years old and most likely outdated if it dosent need a new battery by then that time and cost more to fix then getting new devices. So wouldn’t worry to much about that to be honest

It's my understanding that Telus and Bell will be decommissioning 3G services from March 2025 to December 2026.
Is that correct? Have you heard anything?
Thanks.

@Larrylovessocks It’s my understanding the 3G will still be around for sometime and your phone still work . But one day like all things you will need to finally upgrade and then just take the SIM card out of old phone and put it into the new phone when that day finally comes

Thanks for the clarification.
Will the upcoming removal of 3G impact my ability to make and receive calls? Sorry if that's a dumb question. Lol!

sorry for the incorrect info above, the whitelist has nothing to do with your phone is compatible with PM network or not.
Your phone cannot use VoLTE for voice but still able to use 3G to make and receive calls. So, you can ignore the whitelist and as I told you earlier, your phone is compatible with PM and can be used here
