Broken phone while travelling

I am travelling in florida and my phone (out of warranty Pixel 5) is broken. I need a replacement before I return to canada. Can I purchase a refurbished phone here in the US and activate it on my PM subscription with my current phone number?

That's a good idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I will check what is available at the local Best Buy (or Costco, etc.) and confirm compatibility based on the information @TheSterlinger provided.

Hey @DustyLogbook

Buddy was in Vegas a while back and busted his phone while there. Granted he had a physical SIM card but I just spoke with him and he said he went to Bestbuy and picked up this to tied him over for the two weeks he was there.

Cheap and works on the PM network. You'd just have to follow @TheSterlinger suggestion about downloading the app and repurchase a new eSIM via the app.

When you get your new phone download Public Mobile app, sign in and then purchase an eSIM and download. It should be free automatically but may ask you to pay. If you are charged for the eSIM then you can submit ticket for credit for the cost.

Generally, US iPhones, Samsungs and Google phones should have no problems with Public Mobile. For a phone that you are looking to buy make sure it has the following bands.

Since you are roaming you will need a phone that has VOLTE to be able to call which in the US.

I'm currently using an eSIM, but I have a regular PM SIM available as well.

Most likely, but it depends on the phone you are going to purchase. Do you have eSIM or SIM card?
