Hi. I’m not sure if my phone got locked or not but on my SIM card it says locked sim. It is asking for a PUK number. Please help!!

hi @Gurleen211 if it is a sim pin you don't know, open ticket with CS agent for the sim pin PUK

She told me that there was a passcode where the sim is. Like the sim pin

Hello. I have my SIM card in the same phone. There were no changes made like transferring

Looks like your sister may have place a SIM lock on your phone.

Does she remember accidentally entered the SIM lock?

I’m not sure what happened because my sister had my phone prior but when I revived it it says contact your provider your puk code

 Hi @Gurleen211   if you phone was never used on Public Mobile, very likley it is a carrier lock and you need to ask your previous carrier for an unlock code

 

If this phone was used on PM before, then check your sim card on another phone, if you got the same error, then it is a sim card lock.  Please open ticket with PM Support for the sim card PUK then

 

at : https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.

First type Contact,
then select the only choice there: "Contact..",
from the list of , choose "Other"
finally click link the blue link about submit a ticket
Another page will open and just follow: .

After ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM

is it a recently acquired 2nd hand phone ? Perhaps it's been reported as stolen and blacklisted.

@Gurleen211   Before you open ticket with PM , can you confirm  what was the exact error message? Depends on the message, you have to ask the PUK code from different places

 

 

If it is a Samsung and if the message is "SIM network PIN blocked. Enter SIM network PUK." 

call  Samsung 1-800-726-7864, The only info you will need to provide for a master unlock was the IMEI and where the phone was purchased

 

If the message is “PIN unlock key (PUK)” or "Enter PUK Your SIM cannot be accessed" or on an iPhone's status bar showing  "Locked SIM"

If the message is "SIM network unlock PIN" or "SIM ME lock code NP"  or  on an iPhone's About->Carrier Lock showing "SIM locked"

You have to ask the carrier where you got the phone from for the carrier unlock code. (PM would not be able to help with this)
