@dabr  you are right.. i think this is the post you are referring

Oukitel C17 - Community (publicmobile.ca)

I think in fact, any other vendor SIM might work.. but the person with the issue did try to use a Freedom SIM and got it working

I am a newbie with PM.  I have an old Samsung Galaxy which worked like a charm when I connected it.  I activated my Oukitel C17 Pro this weekend, and all I can get is phone calls and no text or data.  I seem to have tried everything and the apn cannot be changed from Telus to PM.  Did you have this issue as well?  If so, how did you get around it?

While the APN setttings not being correct would cause data not to work, they aren't related to text messaging. This means that there is also some other type of issue, whether it's an account issue or an issue with the SMSC setting.

@tavesone   I don't remember all the details, but I believe I have read some older posts suggesting to try a Freedom Mobile SIM (maybe borrow one from a friend or even an old used FM SIM should work) and insert it into your phone which allows you to edit the APN settings.   Some users also have recommended to contact moderators and ask for an APN configure file.

Hopefully, other users will be able to offer you more suggestions too.

Meanwhile if you want to contact moderators click this link and follow prompts to submit a ticket:  https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html  or send a private message to Moderator_Team here: https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
