@Joel1234 VoLTE does not have to do with calling the US, it is for if you visit the US and want to use your phone since there are no more 3G networks there. VoLTE is Voice over LTE, a phone that does not have it must use 3G instead for voice calls. Canada still has 3G (for now, slated to shut down here eventually too). If you want a phone to be approved for use on Public Mobile you need to check out what is on the VoLTE and MMS approved lists.
MMS:

VoLTE:

You've posted Amazon links to two different Blackview models. Neither is VoLTE approved on PM. If it doesn't bother you that voice calls will be limited to 3G then perhaps if you started a new thread with Blackview in the title someone with knowledge of them would respond.

No, you don't. All plans are prepaid.

@Joel1234 Someone else will probably check the bands it needs, but it's not on the PM VoLTE list so it will not work well for voice calls in the USA, if that's an issue, and eventually will not work in Canada (on PM anyway) unless PM later adds it to the VoLTE list but that could be quite a while away yet.

Before you order that phone...let us know which phone it is...just to make sure there's no disappointments.

@Joel1234 Check out the list of VoLTE phones that are approved by Public Mobile, especially if you might travel to the USA where there is no more 3G (which will eventually be the case here too although could be a long time coming).

Debit Visa or MasterCard should work, @Joel1234

Will a debt mastercard work or does it need to be credit

Going one step further, @Joel1234 , you don’t even really need to have your own credit card.
You can use someone else’s (with their permission, of course) to set up the service and then unsubscribe from credit card payments in your account and pay manually using payment vouchers on a go forward.

A credit check? No. A credit card maybe I didn't remember if it's a requirement to set up an account but you can pay with with gift cards to keep a credit on Your account.

Public mobile is a prepaid service.
No credit or identification check needed. No contract. Public mobile does not check address, etc.
Just need a valid payment method.

No, Public Mobile is pre paid service that doesn’t require any credit check, but you need a regular Canadian credit card to sign in
