OTA eSim Code

Hello,

Not receiving OTA 6 digit activation code on the phone.

Already rebooted phone 

QR code also says not able to activate, new subsction, new number

you need to check the message box here. Last time, I asked them something, they resolved all in an hour

if you're in a larger city, look if there's a Mobile Klinik in your vicinity as they usually have PM sims available for sale.

It will be very hard for me to get a physical one at this moment, that's why I opted for the eSim

yes, at this moment, pretty much they are the only one that can help

you checked the Community inbox yet?  if over 4 hours already, message them again

and would you consider getting a physical sim card first? for most iPad activation, people need to use an iPhone to activate the physical sim card first, get that code step done before putting the sim on the iPad

I messaged them already a few times but not replying... Just when I urgently need this fixed... 😢

that is the reason, iPad cannot receive the text

usually people need to activate it with a physical sim first.  After the activation code is received, then change to esim on the iPad

So, what you need to do now is to ask support to see how they can help. They might still ask you to change it back to physical sim first, then change the esim after all setup completed

No, sorry it's an iPad but 3G- Used it before with another carrier. eSim is there, shows Telus.

I have no date at all and can't receive their message to activate it. The previous carrier did send messaged no issues.

you said it is showing Telus, are you porting your number form Telus to Public Mobile?

So you used the Public Mobile app on your cell to activate your new account, right ? Can you dial 611 with your cell to hear current plan status.

then check, Settings-> Cellular, do you see Public Mobile esim there?  If it is there, the error you got from QR code was simply because it is already installed

Make sure you don't have another esim or physical sim card in the phone.  Make sure PM esim is set as Primary and "Turn on this line" is set

if problem with esim installation, you need PM to help.  They might ask you to get another esim via the app or worst case, ask you to change to physical sim first. So, ask PM.   You won't be able to open proper Chatbot ticket, so just message them

the error saying it is not possible to activate could be because the sim already installed by PM app.  Did you check your Sim Manager or Settings-> Cellular screen?  check if Public Mobile esim is there

if not, you will have to ask PM support agent to help.   I already posted the way to contact them on the first reply above.  Please check

Hi,

I can't receive the 6 digit OTA code on my phone, no messages coming through. Rebooted phone, nothing. Scanned the QR code received ny email - Says it's not possible to activate.

This is a new activation and new number...

are you talking about the installation of esim? you don't need the code to install, you just need the Public Mobile app and it should have installed for you at the end of the activation.  Check the sim manager and see if PM esim is there

@Cunha01, for the eSIM, did you receive the email from Public Mobile with a QR code to scan? Scanning the code should to the eSIM setup for you but you will need to have the Public Mobile app installed on your device.

The Community here are just customers like you.  To protech yourself, remove your phone number.  You can click on the down arrow on top right of your post and click  Edit Message

For the OTA code, are you porting the number? did you get the code on your old carrier sim? Maybe make sure your old sim card still connected to a phone

And with you new PM eSim, make sure PM eSim is Primary and "Turn on this line" is enabled
