My previous service provider advised that no text message would be sent during the number port-out process and that the new carrier could complete the transfer independently. However, it has now been 15 hours since I requested the number transfer. Currently, my old SIM card remains active, while my new SIM card is unable to receive incoming calls. I can place outgoing calls, but others cannot reach me. Despite this, the verification text message from Public Mobile can be successfully received on the new SIM card.

It looks like your porting process got stuck and you need to retrigger the request. I will send you a porting assistance phone number by direct message since I cannot post phone numbers in the forum. Please review your direct messages. They may be able to assist you further.

i got a text message when I insert the new SIM to try, the message was from PM, advising they’re having trouble transferring my number. “Looks like you entered an incorrect ESN/MEID.”, I typed in the IMEI number when I have my old SIM inserted, and verified, don’t know if what they need is IMEI2 or something else.

My old provider is Kini under Telus. It is my mobile phone number, not a landline. And they don’t have account number as well, they advised me to provide IMEI while keeping my old SIM inserted in the phone, and they also advise they don’t send port out text message, just the new provider to port in directly.

hi @Xier
which carrier is that? no text to authorize the port usually means it is a landline or VoIP. Transfer from VoIP and landline takes 3 to 7 days. So, the wait is expected

Consider it is weekend and most likely staff reduced during this time.
If your ;old; SIM is still active and you have full service with other provider then porting is not completed or maybe not even started.
