I recently ported my number over to PM and received a message today that the port was complete. It was brought to my attention however that I'm not able to send or receive text messages from certain friends.
Any ideas?

Hey @coop777 your problem is marked "Solved". What was the solution?

Hi @coop777!
I have heard of several models of Samsung phones from last 2-3 years experiencing various sms troubles using the stock samsung messaging app.
Since you have to wait until morning for PM moderators, I suggest you try one of the 3rd party sms apps from the play store. Textra app is our favourite for this purpose. If test messages are successful via Textra, you can just use it as your default messaging app.

Ok thanks for your help!

I think that's all you can do. There have been a few reports of similar texting problems that seem to have been resolved with moderator assistance.
You are stuck waiting until tomorrow.

Hi Luddite,
A few answers to your questions..
- keep a list of the affected and unaffected numbers (done)
- log into your account to confirm your plan is active and includes texting (my account is active w/ international texting package.
- what error message, if any, do you get? (no error messages)
- can you make and receive calls? (yes I can make and receive)
- try removing the SIM for a few minutes, install and reboot (will give this a shot)
- what is make/model of your phone? (S7 Edge)
Cheers

There are some things to confirm that will help diagnose your issue:
- keep a list of the affected and unaffected numbers
- log into your account to confirm your plan is active and includes texting
- what error message, if any, do you get?
- can you make and receive calls?
- try removing the SIM for a few minutes, install and reboot
- what is make/model of your phone?
A moderator @Shazia_K @Mary_M or @Saray_O can look at your account in the morning. Let us know if the problem abates before then.
If the problem persists, you will need to send them information by private message. If unfamiliar with this feature, you can review it here: Private Messages - viewing and creating. It will speed things along if you can check in from time to time during "Ontario business hours" tomorrow.
I'm sure it will be resolved but may take some time.
