Not receiving texts from US

Hi,

 

I do not receive texts or calls from my US bank (Chase). Yet it seems that I receive other texts fine (eg from Canadian bank) and I can also call US numbers.

 

What's up? How to fix that?

@mokthar  No.  for system text outside of Canada, it is not PM disallowing it but a problem on the sender.   And honest, overseas banks usually do not guarantee the text will send across either.  Best is to use other mean of 2FA like Authenticator app instead of text or phone calls.  Please check with Chase to see if they have other choices for 2FA

Have you called Chase bank and spoken to them? You may need to have it set up by an actual bank employee.

@JL9Yes, I choose email when I can, but sometimes for some reason it is not possible. The verification call doesn't go through either. Is this normal?

If it is sporadic or doesn't come through, you may want to see if there is an alternative like a verification call instead of text, or email. That would ger around your 2FA issue with text.

Try texting HELP or SUBSCRIBE or YES to 24273 Chase bank's short code and see if you get a reply. If so try initiating a balance inquiry text from them.

@moktharsystem  text from outside of Canada is not guaranteed, it is just best effort service.  it is a problem with the sender system, whether they pay extra to make sure the text deliver, a cost issue as well as system implementation.   It is not something PM could fix.  Please reach out to Chase directly
