Hi, I am new to public mobile. It has been only 3 days now. We are still having issues with not receiving any phone calls. Is this something that always happens, if so how to we fix it?
Thanks

Can you try rebooting your phone again? We are trying to determine if the fix by pm for another member was account specific or across the board.

@darlicious : But what about that intermittent funny sound that just never shows up when you have someone look at it? Oh...wait...that's my ringer...somebody's calling...'scuse me 🙂

Again.....read the OP's issue. There isn't one catch all fix for not recieving incoming calling. But we do appreciate your effort. The community's help is only as good as the information we provide and its important that it is correct to the problem at hand. Try searching an OP's question/issue in the search bar and hitting "go". Threads with a green checkmark indicate a solution....read thru a thread with "contact the moderators" as the solution to see if the OP or another member identifies what the cause of the issue is and what the moderators did to fix it. This is the best way for you to learn how to advise other customers on how to solve their own issues without the need to contact the moderators to do it for them.
Sure you can go to your mechanic and pay them to check and top up your oil but the whole point is to save money when you can easily do that yourself. That's how public mobile works....you come to the community and ask for them to help you fix your problem. If you find out you haven't put any oil in for ages and you blew a piston then that's when you need a mechanic or in our case a moderator.

I have had this exact issue happen to me yesterday and after looking all over the forums this is what fixed it:
1. Message MOD team or submit a ticket using message bubble bottom right and let them know about your service is able to make outbound calls/text but not received inbound calls/text
2. Ask them to "refreshed the network" for you, and wait for a bit (~1hr) and you should be able to receive calls now.
3. If it still doesn't work try to insert your SIM into another phone and trying receiving a call again from another device.
Let me know if this helps :). Public Mobile should really look into getting this fixed.

Did you happen to port a landline?
If you just ported your phone number from another cell provider it could take a few hours to complete the port. Using the other cell provider's SIM you should be still receiving calls on it, until the port completes.
If you ported from a landline it could take up to 7 days to complete.
Make sure you do not cancel your previous provider's services until the port is complete.
Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.
See helpful info. here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/port-fraud-protection
Try one or more of the below:
*turn off your phone, leave off for a minutes, then reboot
*removing your SIM for a few minutes, then reinserting it
*go into airplane mode for a few minutes, then going back to regular mode
*reboot your phone again

If you ported in your phone number did you respond YES to the porting authorization text? When you put your old providers sim card in your phone does it still work? If you answer yes to both of these questions then you will have to get your port request re-intiated. Once doing so you must have your old sim card in your phone to recieve the porting text and reply YES to it. Your port will then be authorized and complete in a few minutes up to two hours. Once complete your old account will close and all incoming calls will be recieved on your new pm sim card/account.
You can also call the telus porting department to request porting your phone number in again. Have the full name on the account and the old providers account # ready. This phone number only handles porting requests/issues. 1 844 2(1+2)2 7(7-1)7(7+1)
