Just recently bought a new Motorola phone from Spain. The Edge 30. It says it's a 5G phone and Kimovil site it has the required bands. But I am only able to ger 4F LTE sppeds(Download).
Any ideas ?
Called Motorola and they were no help because it's not a Canadian phone.

I just did a reset on all my connections. Same result. Boots up to a dim 5G beforeglowing to a LTE+.

AND, here's another kicker ... the phone I just sold where I was getting 5G speeds, the Motorola Edge+ 2022 5G UW. It was sold to another person who was also with Public Mobile, and he was only getting Lte speeds. But with my sim I was getting 5G speeds. He has the same plan as I do !

In the resetting options there is a baseband reset. So I chose that one first. Phone rebooted and took a few seconds to attach to a network. While it was, I could see it saying 5G as it was connecting but when it was fully connected it then showed 4G LTE.

No it's not a Canadian phone. Bought it from a seller in Spain. I searched all around and don't see any variants of the edge 30 tho. Haven't reied another carrier's sim, but I could alway head over to a Telus dealer or someone.
Someone else recommeded installing a NA OS. I would like to try that but the phone is less thana a month old.

it is not a Canadian model phone?? did you test another carrier sim in this phone??
and make sure you have the latest OS. Maybe try to find way to install a North America OS if any

My sim card did work in another Motorola phone. It showed 5G and I did get 5G download speeds. it was model, Motorola Edge+ 2022 5G UW.
No, I don't have the 5G option in the network modes. That was the first thing I checked. My phone says lte and download speeds are only up to 150MB.
I didn't try resetting all networks yet though.

does it not show 5G an option in network mode or it is there but the phone just not connects 5G??
try Reset All Networks
also, try your sim in another 5G phone to test
