Hey guys, I activated my SIM card yesterday and since then I've had no service 😞
My account says it's active, the payment went okay, and everything seems to be fine, so I'm pretty confused!
Any thoughts on what I can do to get some service?
Thanks!

Can you explain? Number porting is almost entirely someithing that is controlled at the carrier's end. Occassional, a phone needs to be restarted, and sometimes, the user might need to manually change APN settigs, set the SMSC setting for text messaging, or program in the voicemail number, but the device itself doesn't have to adjust.

Good tip about fongo.com. Luckily I don't need to make any calls today, so it's not a huge deal.
Good. Think the backlog is such you may not have a response until tomorrow. You may wish to turn on email notification of private messages so you have the earliest notice.

That is the current Carrier update. So, that came through even though your service is down. Weird. 👺
There is always my emergency backup plan, installed on my iPod and iPhone, while you wait ---- if you need to make phone calls try an application like that from fongo.com. It provides free calling across Canada from wherever you are connected to wifi.

Thanks for the idea to check the Apple troubleshooting steps. I went through all of them and nothing worked, but this stood out to me. Not sure if it's useful information though!
While looking for a carrier update, in Settings > General > About, Network says "Not Available" and Carrier is listed as "Public Mobile 28.3."

Darn, I just tried manually setting the network to Public Mobile and resetting the network settings and neither worked.
I've sent a message to the mods, hopefully they'll be able to shed some light on what's going on.

Try the Apple toubleshooting steps while you are waiting: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201415

Try to manual search network and choose "Home" or public mobile on the list and see if it picks up the network.

Here's what shows up for my plan:
"90-day pass $120 per 90 Days
This plan includes: -
- 12GB Data
- Expired
- Unlimited International Text
- Unlimited Provincial Talk"
Is that expired bit weird? I just noticed it.
I get a "No Service" notification in the top left corner, after rebooting I still get the same message.
I'm using an iPhone 6+, unlocked, originally from Telus.
Freedom mobile service/SIM card is not working.
Unfortunately, I don't have another unlocked phone to try this SIM in.
I'll contact the mods and see if they're able to help 🙂

Is your freedom mobile service still working or not?
After you put in your public mobile sim card, and reboot, what message do you see?

What plan do you see in your self-serve account? Do you not get any signal when you put the Public Mobile sim? What phone are you using? Is it unlocked or locked to koodo/telus?
