I just set up my son’s phone and he has no data.  I just was on the phone with Telus and for some reason, the transfer was cancelled.

I would hold off on contacting the porting department.  Data not working isn't a number porting issue. There's something that needs to be addressed first before figuring out the number porting.  Otherwise, the number porting might get completed to a non-working Public Mobile acount.

with data, try Reset all networks and should fix that quickly

with your porting problem, only support can confirm what was wrong.  Use chatbot bubble to start the ticket, or you can also simply message :
