No SMS Request to Port Old # - phone now on SOS

DJ-C-Hendy

The subject says it all - trying to port my old number from Cityphone Telecommunications to my new PM. I have my Cityphone sim still in the phone, but now my service is "SOS" and I never received the porting request text.

Should I be phoning my old provider? Thanks!

@DJ-C-Hendy   Great!  One or two other providers don't send the porting request text.  I wasn't sure about Cityfone but since that sim had stopped working it seemed likely that the port had completed.  Welcome!

@DJ-C-Hendy  We happy to hear it welcome to public mobile and happy new year 🥳

I did just that and things seem to work fine in both sending and receiving texts/calls. Thanks very much. Seems like I did not need to give approval to my old provider afterall.

@DJ-C-Hendy Try the PM SIM card in the phone do you have services ? If same (sos) you will need to contact support to re provision the sim for you

@DJ-C-Hendy   Have you tried the PM sim in your phone and restarted it?
