No Connection on Pixel6a - tried everything

MaxThrust

I have a pixel 6a it worked fine for several months.   Then the Data Connection became intermittent.   Works great some days.  No connection at all at other times.

I've tried:
- Rebooting the phone.
- resetting network settings
- 2G not allowed
- Prefer LTE
- restore phone to factory defaults
- I even tried buying an new public mobile ESIME in case the physical sim slot is failing.
Nothing works.

Sometimes I get the "H" or an "H+" but still not connection.  Other times It takes phone calls and SMS but not data connection.  Then it just starts working again randomly>

Please help?  Any Suggetions?

Hi. 🙂

Did you try to toggle off/on Airplane mode?

Or reset APN to Default?

Or a long press power off hard reboot?

@MaxThrust   If you want to address d) you can send a private message to PM customer support using this link.  An agent will reply at the envelope icon top right or tap your avatar for Messages if no envelope.  Their hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m EST so you likely won't get a reply until tomorrow.

So, I use a public mobile sim from another phone.   Same behavior in my phone.  Not the sim.

Doesn't narrow it down much but I guess that means:

a) my phone H/W   seems unlikely the phone is not very old.

b) phone settings. I've done a factory reset ad reset network settings. So this also seems unlikely.

c) Public Mobile settings related to my SIM, also unlikely since I bought a new ESIM that has the same problem.

d) Public mobile settings related to my account/phone number.

I'm pretty new to this kind of problme so I may be out to lunch but d) seems most likely to me.

Yup.  That is a great idea.   Sadly, I tried the new esim first so my old sim is disabled.  I'll have to try someone else's sim I guess.

@MaxThrust

You might want to try the SIM card in another working phone.  That will help determine whether hardware issue versus PM service problem.
