Nexus 6P Hangouts APN

 So I could'nt get Hangouts SMS to send an MMS APN setting were all correct . So I tried the default sms for Google and everything works fine now.

The 6P is on the latest 7.1.1  Androis Beta. 
Has anyone had success with hangouts SMS sending a picture?

I feel your pain, It has sometyhing to do with the file size setttings I think as I can send small pictures no problem.

Having this exact same issue with my Nexus 6P trying to send MMS from Hangouts. Get a failed to send message every time. I've tried every set of APN settings and tweaks I could find in the forums and nothing works. I've had to change SMS (MMS goes along with it) to Google Messenger as I can send MMS from that app. Not ideal!

Look halfway down for an Update by Chris, the community manager if the link above does not take you there. It's a long thread so it may take up to 15 seconds for the browser to snap to the correct post.

My problem was that I had installed Opera and made it the default. Weeks later, I discovered that I could not send MMS messages via Hangouts. Then I stumbled upon the thread and when I put Chrome back as default, MMS started working.

@Luddite, @computer unfortunately I don't use hangouts for SMS so I'm not sure I can be much assistance here. I use another 3rd part app named Textra. Also I very rarely ever send or receive any MMS messages, mostly simple SMS or else other better messengers (WhatsApp, BBM, Facebook Messenger...)
