Is your phone carrier unlocked?
Can you try the sim in another phone that is unlocked?

@cifong To rule out any issues with your phone, can you swap the sim card onto another working phone?
Which phone model are you using? Make sure your phone is compatible with public mobile (telus) network. You can do that here or on other sites: https://publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-started https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/where-to-buy-a-compatible-phone
1. First, check if your phone is compatible.
2. Next, check if your phone is lost or stolen.
If you need a sim unlock code, your current phone may be still locked to your previous provider. In this case, you need to contact them to get it unlocked.

Hello @cifong
What is the status say in your self serve account?
https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/
Try one or more of the below:
*rebooting your phone
*removing your SIM for a few minutes, then reinserting it
*go into airplane mode for a few minutes, then going back to regular mode
*reboot your phone again

Hi - welcome to Public Mobile. Did the charges go through for your activation? Is your phone unlocked? Are you porting a number (this takes longer). You could try turning your phone to airplane mode, and turning on and off to see if that works. Another thing to try is not to turn your phone on and to sync with Itunes. Good luck!
