So i just got this phone a few weeks ago and every day I'm getting scammers calling me 3-5+ times a day and they won't stop. How do I go about asking for a new phone number?

@codyk This happened to me when I first signed up. I found that the number was in a list of phone numbers on some overseas site by doing a Google search. So I changed number, making sure to Google any number I liked until I found one that didn't come up in search results. Went with that one and the spam stopped. So it did make a difference.

@codyk - Oh, that's bad to hear. Usually phone numbers are recycled so there may be people calling about someone that used to have the phone number.

Thanks. Its actually my kids phone and only family has the number and a couple of his friends. But I decided it had to be changed he had 300 calls in 3 weeks. Same call center looking for someone. So that's probably why that number was free lol.

I get them too and it's annoying. So, depending on your phone, if you have an iPhone, you can block unknown callers. Android may have something too. But, this is the advice I gave someone a few days ago.
This is what I did. I downloaded Fongo, TextNow and a few other VOIP apps. Played with each one until I found a number I liked on each. Narrowed it down to which one I wanted most, then I ported it over here to Public Mobile. I've had the same Fongo "borrowed"... hehehe... number for almost 10 years now. Hope this idea helps.
OH. And when you think you found a number you really want to port, check here to see if it can be ported.

At My Profile are on Overview page click on Change Number. You can do it up to 4 times per 30 days.
Go to your Self Serve, under the My Profile section and choose Change Number.
Changing phone number will NOT reduce spam calls. They call any possible number to get somebody to respond to their pitch. And do not waste your time blocking numbers calling you as they are all spoofed (except real legitimate - business, friends, etc.).
Just live it it and eventually they will be reduced or stopped. I used to get 5-8 calls a day. All went to vmail as I do not answer unknown number calling me. Pain to clean vmail but better than talk with spammers with foreign accent or similar crooks.

@codyk - Go to myaccount.publicmobile.ca > Profile > Crayon next to your phone number and chose your local city and pick a number. It can be changed up to 4 times per renewal cycle.
If on app go to Account > Scroll Down till you see "Change Phone Number" and click on it. It will load up with the emblems. Then chose your city and number.
But before you do this you may want to register with the National Do Not Call Registry.

Note: Once you change your phone number, you will have to change it in any account with your old number, even telling friends & family.

That's too unfortunate. Changing phone number probably won't really stop them but that's your choice.
You can change phone number up to 4 times in 30 days.
However, sign into account, under Profile tab, you will see your personal information. Phone number, SIM, address etc.
Click on the pencil icon to the right of your number. It will allow you to change it.
