HI @MelanieMcE call it and see if it is taken
and you want PM to reassign you that number? Were you the owner of it and you just lost it somehow? CS agent might not help with assign specific number, they usually won't
Also, what is the number? It might not even be a number owned by PM and hence CS agent would not be able to assign you the number

Call it. If someone answers... If not then you would need to know which provider "owns" the number. Maybe you could share the first 6 digits of the number you want (not the last 4) and we could tell you who owns it. Then you would go to that provider and see if they can get the number if it's available to be taken.

You could take a look at the numbers on voip.ms, take one, and port it out to PM.

What happened to exhaust the suggestion list and then opt for more your preferred last 4 digits?

@MelanieMcE You can't really check a specific number. What you can do is go to "change number" in your self serve account. Select New Number and your calling area. It will show a short list of available numbers. If this is a new activation you will also a link where you can try whatever last 4 you want with an available prefix. If you already have a number this option doesn't show up and you are stuck with what they offer.
You could always contact customer service and ask them if a specific number is available and if so can you get it.

After joining PM, you will have an option to select a number from your desirable area code. Number of numbers is limited and might change daily. So best approach is to pick one and then regularly check through your account what is available. You can change your number 4 times per 30 days.
There is no way to check available numbers in advance. If you already have mobile service you can port your number to your new PM account.
