This is not Public Mobiles business. Public Mobile does not offer a way to forward texts. I don't know of any providers that do.

It's all up to you and your phone.

The popular app around here is TextNow. Surely the Apple app store has it. I don't know if there's any geographic limitation to downloading it.

You install and set up the app. You get a Canadian phone number.

Then you set call forwarding on your phone to that number. If you take the sim with you then you can't forward texts and don't let the phone connect to a US tower. I'm not sure if transiting through the US would return it to working upon leaving.

Forwarding texts needs another app. It needs to be running on the phone and the phone left in Canada and on and the Public sim in.

@mithaq80   I guess you are not just going to US?

Again, if you go to US, then there are all the Roaming addon you can buy to use in US to receive and make calls and message when you are there

If you are going other countries, you have to rely on VoIP app and no other choices.  You can download it yourself  Best to use TextNow, you will get another 10 digits number from them.  Give the new number to your friends and you can recieve calls and text from them on the new number using the app.  It will work as long as you have Mobile data (maybe local data prepaid sim) or Wifi

2FA text would be tricker, next to impossible on VoIP app.  So, before your trip, try to move all your 2FA from text to authenticator app or email

(sorry, PM does not have other calling app for you to use when you don't have a network.  Lucky has an app but it only works when you are in Canada, so, it is not very useful when you are on trip)

Just so you're aware, @mithaq80 , we're all customers on this forum.    I suppose in some ways it is "our company" since we do all the legwork for them.   LOL

None of us (well, except the odd comment from users: J_PM  & cs_agent) are Public Mobile employees.

Yes, I’m in Canada

The app you was talking about I couldn’t get public mobile provider to add it.

Very few providers (any?) have a text forwarding method. So an app can do that.

Are you in Canada right now?

Call forwarding to a voip app is easy.

Text forwarding to a voip app requires an app on the phone and in Canada with the Public sim in and on and preferably plugged in to keep it charged.

I think so you are sound particularly tech savvy because the answers it same what I received from you all. It’s look like memories book

so my phone is iPhone 12 and I want to receive call and messages as well.

I am network security technician I know what are you talking about but this issue needs access from the system in your company.

cheer,

Methaq

You've already received a reply with links to an app last month but you said "not available". Why? Are you in Canada now? What make and model of phone do you have?

You seem to have said that texts are your concern. That's a lot more involved to get working. You don't sound particularly tech savvy. Do you know someone that would be able to do all this for you if you're not tech savvy?

Could you please send me the link of this app and the steps how I add this service to my phone?

 Thank you

Reviewing your thread from a month ago, beyond the US, the only way is to forward calls to a voip app. Forwarding texts is more involved, but possible, and to the same voip app.

iMessage can be used for texting instant messaging between idevices when connected to the internet.

@mithaq80   outside of Canada, you can only use your PM service in US, only if you buy the appropriate roaming.  PM does not offer roaming service anywhere else

of course, you can still use your phone on Wifi.

Hello there,

I am planning to go and come back from Canada and outside of it. Is there any place to receive call and messages as well!?

thank you,

Methaq

@mithaq80   sorry, no , no one can help on this unless your sim is in Canada and you have someone to physically help you

You need to see if there is any alternate way to get the code , whether email or authenticator app

Can you let my mobile receive text messages please?

I need to get code activation via my phone as the app asked.

please help me with this matter.

As you already know, Public Mobile will only work in the U.S. with a roaming add-on or in Canada, but nowhere else.  All options involve the use of the service of another company.

@mithaq80

No, you need to purchase a local SIM if you are leaving Canada and the USA.

If you are going to the US, you can purchase an Roaming Add-on by logging into your account and go to Plans & Add-on to make your purchase of what type of Roaming you need.

@mithaq80

Public Mobile only offers service within Canada and within the USA with USA roaming add-ons.

If you are going to another location, it is recommended you purchase a prepaid sim card to use with your device while there.

Your other option would be to sign up for a VoIP app and forward your public mobile number to that number to receive such things as banking codes and the such while abroad.

@mithaq80 @Sign into you public mobile self serve  and add a 10 day roaming add on if your going outside Canada to the us , otherwise if your just looking to go call the us you need a long distance add on. And if that the case and you haven’t already received your holiday bonus the more is merrier I’d try and text YES2 4911 and if it’s says your not eligible then just reach out to a agent to manually apply it to your account
