Need help. New Sin card not working

Bengie
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

 My cell phone's texting and phoning did not work. It said my Simm Card had no signal. I just got a new Simm Card from Public Mobile inserted it and updated it and nothing has changed. Do I need a new phone Or is there something else I can try?

@Bengie  check the easy items first:

  1. is your phone compatible https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/check-your-phones-compatibility#:~:text=Your%20p...
  2. Remove SIM and wipe with clean dry cloth.  Debris on the SIM can cause your phone not to recognize the SIM
  3. Is the SIM inserted correctly (there is usually a picture on the card that comes with the physical SIM)
  4. Power off phone and restart

If the above options don't solve your issue, you may just have a damaged SIM card.

@Bengie

Reboot your phone by powering off then back on. Dial 1-855-4PUBLIC from another phone to check the status of your account. If your account is active/subscribed then it could be the phone.

What is the make and model of your phone?

Contact a CS_Agent to investigate to see if there is a provisional issue with your SIM by pm at:

@Bengie

Is your account status active?

Did you try rebooting phone?  Network reset of phone?

You may want to try the SIM card in another working phone.  That will help determine whether hardware/phone issue versus PM service problem.
