My service keeps going

I just got back from Australia and renewed my service plan with public mobile. It will now give me cell service for a small amount of time. Then it will give me a NO SIM warning and a SIM FAILED code and display the sos. Turning it off and on only works 1 out 10 times approx.

First check on the status of your account to see if it is Suspended or Closed. If it is closed then it will state that account doesn’t exits.

Get a new SIM will help if you are opening a new account and activation of the SIM if account is closed.

If it is Suspended then you need to make a manual payment to restore service.

If account is not active then you can’t port your number to another carrier.

So what is the status of your account?

I managed to get rid of the old one just now and since I removed and put the sim card back in it has been working but that doesn’t mean it is fixed

It gave me the option to update contacts and I clicked it. I deleted the Australian one. And since I pulled out my regular SIM card and put it back it it has been working but it has only been about 10 mins. I won’t really know until it has consistently worked for the next couple days

hi @Judah2

is that an iPhone? can you toggle off "Turn off this line"?  and change the PM sim or esim back to Primary

@Judah2

sound like the old esim caused the trouble.  Can you at least disable it?

what phone you have? what travel esim is that? can you show screenshot?

I do not have an option to delete me old eSIM for some reason. I do not have any VPN

@Judah2

If you have a physical sim for your service in Australia, remove it; or if that is an esim, delete it

and check VPN screen on the phone, delete any VPN profile there

then try Reset Network Settings once more

Will do when I get a chance

I did use an eSIM in Australia and I reset the network setting and nothing has changed. It still is there registered as a sim but has the no sim attached to it

New sim will not help unless current one is damaged. Try different sim to determine if it is a phone, sim or service issue.

I did pause it but I got it back and it has worked periodically. Should I just get a new SIM card. Or maybe switch providers because public mobiles customer service sucks

OP mentioned that off/on works 1 in 10 times so I would assume he still has PM service.

@Judah2 did you use different service or sim in Australia? If yes, maybe that messed up your network settings so resetting it might help. Particularly if you did note what they were before the trip so you can adjust them properly.

@Judah2

Reset the Network setting on your phone.

But if you paused your Subscription longer than 90 days then your account will be closed, SIM will no longer work and your number will be returned to the carrier you got the number from.

You can call 1-855-4PUBLIC for the status of your account.
