And to think that I almost went with TrueCaller a few years back. It wasn't as brazenly privacy invasive back then. That's obviously changed.
Though now I feel bad for recommending it to certain people. It seemed a good choice for their needs, at the time.

Where does this name "Amanda" come from?
I'm guessing that the name and number are married on some Apple or Google cloud registry ... and that you must login to that cloud service to assign/release the name?
Is "Amanda" only displayed on iPhones?

@Nicko343 your name in your profile has nothing to do with what name people see when you call them. PM doesn't send a name along with your number - period.
Any name people see along with an incoming call from a PM subscriber is from something on their own phone - either their own contacts, or some caller I'd "helper app" that queries data from the Internet.

Try logging into your account and check your profile correctly, also from your smartphone you can go into settings and decide if you want your Identity to be shown to callers

I can also confirm that outgoing caller ID NAME is not sent when calling others from Public Mobile. If the people just add you to their phones contact it should override whatever smartcall app is putting a name in for your number.
Some phones like Samsung have an app pre-installed called "Smart Call" which has it's own database, which is mostly sourced from people sharing their address books..

Another common app is https://www.truecaller.com/
These apps are quite privacy invasive... TrueCaller won't even let you search their database unless you login with a Google or Microsoft account and share access to your contacts as well..

Please note that there is nothing a moderator can do. As stated, there are no names transmitted, and this isn't an issue with the Public Mobile service.
Also, I would not suggest disabling outgoing call display. Most people will not answer these calls and some phones autmoatically reject such phone calls.

I can understand your frustration with this. If someone saves your number to their contacts as a certain name, then you can’t change that. PM only sends your phone number and sometimes the name or last name registered on your account. To change your caller ID, you would have to do it on your device.
The consensus is that you can’t change your outgoing called ID. You can disable it by going to settings > phone > show my caller ID > Disable.

@MAK2020 Public does not support name caller ID lookup and cannot make any changes. If this is a number that you selected during activation it appears that it belonged to that person and the record needs to be updated by the provider that supports/maintains that database.

Public Mobile does not send any name. Just the number (if not hidden by you). Your recipients might be using outdated smart caller ids.

It would not be PM but the receiver's software that shows your name.
