My history shows that I made lengthy calls that I never made

zsak

I have two problems:

1. My account history shows that I made a couple of calls, one of them 48 minutes, that I did not make. It's to area code 226. I don't have nayone in my phone book with area code 226. The history shows that I called at 1:54 in the morning when I was asleep and my phone was off. What's going on? Has my account been hacked"\?

2. I never signed up for automatic payments, but all of a sudden, after three eyars, my account now shows that I've enabled automatic pyments and my credit card was charged for the nect month's fee. How is that possible? Was my account hacked? (As a precaution I've now unsubscribed so I have no service)

Please fon't flame me or treat me like an idiot.  Just give me some advice.  Thank you.

if you are in Ontario, Shoppers drug mart is the best store to buy vouchers

Too late.  I've already unsubscribed from everything Public Mobile.  Hopefully my account will die after 90 days.  My wife and I were sending each other about five test per month and no one else knew our cell/mobile numbers.  Going without cell service won't be a problem.  I may go for a mobile hotspot and VOIP, but maybe not even that.  I'm a ham radio operator so we might go with hand-held UHF/VHF radios

Thanks and cheers

I've removed the SIM from my phone and unsubscribed from everything on Public Mobile.  I won't be making a payment manually anymore, so hopefully in 90 days my account will die a natural death

Thank for everyone's input.  This subject can now be closed

Cheers

Thanks for the reply!  In the end, both Shell and Walmart are American and I don't do American for the time being.  London Drugs is not available in Ontario.  I've removed the SIM from my phone and unsubscribed from Public Mobile.  Hopefully in 90 days my account will end.

Thanks and cheers

The call history number does NOT end with 4001 or 4002.  Also, why would it take 48 minutes NOT .48 minutes to complete whatever the system does?  I never access my voicemail - I have it truned off.

NO I did not subscribe to autoplay either when I signed up or at any time afterward.  I have been making payments manually for about three years whenever the system warned me that I was close to the dealine when my account was getting close to zero funds.  In fact, I found out that the 30 period is not 30 days.  I got cut off at around 26 or 27 days into my 30-day period.  And the system did not charge my credit card automatrically and I did in fact lose service until I made a manual payment (usually three or six cycles of 30 days ahead)  THAT'S how i know for sure that I didn't have autopay enabled.  BTW, I set up my wife's account at the same time, exactly  the same way so that I could manage her account the same way at the same time for every 30-day cycle... since I have alife and have better things to do besides chacking how many days we have left before our cell phone accounts are deactivated.  Then, last month, the autopay is suddenly activated on my account and only my account, not my wifes's.

And in no way am I surrendering any of my accounts to any autopay scheme.  Been there, done that, learned the hard way thrity years ago.

I've now unsubscribed from autopay and wil not make mamnual payments.  Hopefully my credit card will not be chaged and 80 days later my account will expire.  If not, I'll have to get a new credit card (number) and de-activate my present credit card.

Therefore, this enquiery can be considered closed.

Thanks for eveyone's input.

Cheers

1. the numbers end with 4001 or 4002? they are just voicemail and you are save

2. for autopay, your account was not hacked, it is normal.  when you joined, there is a box you checked and agreed autopay.  the setup is if you don't enable, you won't get to complete the activation.  So, you did explicitly say yes and you just not aware.  Also, PM is prepaid, it is in fact good with autopay as you need to pay before next cycle or your service will stop.  Without autopay and if you ever forgotten to pay, your service will be interrupted.

nobody gonna treat you like an idiot here. Were the call duration noted as 48 mins or 0.48 mins.

If you've Unsubscribed, you can pay with payment vouchers that you can get at Shell gas stations or Walmart or even London Drugs has Public Mobile payment vouchers. Once you get the vouchers, dial 611 with your cell and add them to the account to Resume service again. Automatic payment takes that hassle away, so consider leaving it.

hi @zsak

does that number ends with 4001? if so, it is Voicemail. PM usage history will record calls got sent to VM or when you call VM and check messages. However, the time shows could be meaningless as sometime it shows wrong length of the calls.  But overall, no concern

I would suggest you contact a CS_Agent about the calls and Subscribe (AutoPay) but you can disable Subscribe on your Payment tab.

Click on Chat icon and type in Submit a Ticket to connect with an agent. Their hours are 9:00am to 10:00pm EST.
