When you say $10 worth of data, is that the $10 for 200MB of data or the $10 for 250MB of US roaming data? In Canada, the US roaming add-on will obviously be pointless.
If you've purchased the $10 for 200MB (anywhere in Canada) data, just go ahead and use the service. Public Mobile isn't going to go back and charge you for any roaming usage anyway. If you're roaming and you don't have a U.S. roaming data package, the cellular data service will just stop working.
As for whether or not you are roaming, are you by any chance close to the Canada-U.S.A. border? If you are, you will be roaming even if you are in Canada if you are connected to a tower in the U.S.

Did you purchase the correct add-on?
You need to buy the "200MB Add-on - $10.00" for Canada and not the "US Roaming - 250 MB Data (10-day) - $10.00".

Because Public Mobile is a prepaid service you don't need to worry about roaming charges.

Not sure what your concern is. As long as your data works, it does not matter whether it is roaming or not. Data add on works across Canada. If you don't use it all, it will roll over into the next month.
