Move phone number from old to new phone

Continuing to be unable to get my 'Moto E6' to
perform, I thought perhaps this phone is not supported.

So, I moved the sim card to a newer 'Moto G Pure'.
A phone which until now, has never had a Sim card.

Now an attempted call indicated that the phone is
on PublicMobile but has no phone number. A partial listing from the 'About Phone' information in 'Settings' menu includes ...

Device Name -- moto g pure
Phone Number -- Unknown
Sim Status -- Emergency calls only
Model -- moto g pure
Android Version -- 12

The question ... I already have a phone number
in the 'old' phone. How do I enter this number
into the current phone?

Guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply.  Moto phone bought from BestBuy about Jul 2022,  Ordered

over the internet with free delivery to doorstep.  It was in my hands less than 22

hours from initial order.

@Lynseygibbons your Moto E6 is not performing? If that means you are receiving no services when you insert the public mobile SIM card, try a reset of the device's network settings.

moto e6 - Reset Network Settings
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings. System. .
  3. Tap. Advanced. .
  4. Tap. Reset Options. .
  5. Tap. Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth. .
  6. Tap. RESET SETTINGS. . ...
  7. To confirm, tap. RESET SETTINGS. .

And maybe, check if your phone is blacklisted here: https://www.devicecheck.ca/check-status-device-canada/

Hi @Lynseygibbons so the Moto does not work but after putting the PM SIM in another phone, inbound and outbound calls both work and data work?  If that is the case, no need to worry the PM account and Sim

And now, my question to you, Where you got the Moto phone from.?

Samsung does show phone number in 'about phone'.

But as long you have service ignore blank field.

Can you try your SIM in another phone? Moving SIM from one phone to another should provide service within minutes of inserting it.

Do you get any other messages? Maybe phone is locked or blacklisted?

Phones do not usually give the option to adjust this field.  It is written to the SIM card and pushed to the network.  If your service works, I would ignore the blank phone number in the settings menu.

@Lynseygibbons

I presume you’re using an activated Sim card on an active account?

if you can, try another Sim card in the device, preferably one on the public mobile network, to see if it works.
