The phone, Global version, does have B4, B5 and B7 on 4G, so it looks good.

Expanding a little on the info from @Dunkman - Public Mobile runs off Telus' network, and many phones generally connect at the "fastest connection" possible, LTE.
Public Mobile is the budget-version of Telus' services, and as such, slows down any LTE traffic to "3G Speeds." Many people have actually found faster data actually connecting on 3G than slowed-LTE.
So regardless, the phone should work, with potentially very fast speeds too. 🙂

Here are the specs on this phone:
https://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_g9_play-10387.php
3G bands | HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100 |
4G bands | LTE |
It has the necessary 3G bands for Pubilc mobile (850,1900). It does not specify which LTE bands this phone supports. It will work with Public mobile.
