Missing envelope icon. No way to check messages.

I submitted a ticket to sort out why I did not receive a refer-a-friend payment, for the past 2 months. And there is no way for me to check my messages, as my account does not have a Community Inbox "envelope icon". I have a Francais bubble, a bell icon and a profile icon. The envelope icon is missing.

 

Now what?

@pixl8it - did you turn on your private messaging option as shown in the link by @computergeek541 ? It is just a click in the check box in their post under your settings.

 

Not sure how it turns off sometimes, but it has done this to me as well once and really confused me as to how it happened.

It was turned back on and all good since.

 

Happens to others as well; not sure how this setting gets turned off when not physically turning it off:

On my desktop and no, I didn't make any changes.

That is very strange, @pixl8it 

 

So you didn't make any changes to the community settings under that area where we outlined?

 

Do you mind sharing whether this occurred to you on a desktop or tablet or mobile device?

It worked itself out. The icon was missing but, appeared when I received a message.

If you are on a mobile phone, search for the "desktop mode" or you can also log into incognito mode. These two methods always work for me for any problem I have

Or, @pixl8it , if you prefer the long way to get there:

 

  1. Tap avatar/profile icon upper right  HALIMACS_0-1674997834909.png
  2. Go down to "My Settings"
  3. Select "Preferences"
  4. Select "Private Messenger"
  5. Enable the box beside 'turn on private messages'
  6. Tap "Save"

 

This should enable the envelope icon to display and messaging to function.

The customer has stated that the icon isn't there. That means that the option to send and receive private messages has been turned off.

While logged into Community, please open the link of:

Select the option to enable private messaging.
