@Sharonb can you login to My Account? check what is the phone status, active or suspend
Also, any chance you called your credit card for a chargeback on a Telus or PM charge??

Did you cancel your landline before you requested porting or did you port it and it was successful and the landline account was then the canceled as per the usual procedure?
Instead it sounds like you have lost service on your mobile account which now has your landline number. Are you suspended as your renewal just occurred perhaps your Auto pay failed?
Can you try calling 611 from your mobile phone and find out what your account status is? If you cannot call 611 from your phone which you can do regardless of being suspended you can also try calling 1 855-4PUBLIC and enter your 10-digit phone number to get your account status.
Alternatively be try logging into your public mobile self-serve account and find out what your account status is listed there as? Once we know the answers to these questions we can further help or direct you then what action you need to take to recover your services.
Edit:
Okay speech to text can work lousy sometimes when on mobile. Apologies.

@Sharonb Sorry, you need to explain a bit further. I believe you had an issue with porting.
Is your PM service working?? Can you make outgoing calls? If you can, call a friend now and ask your friend what is the number showing on the call display
You were trying to port from a Telus landline? it is now working now? Was it just canceled/not working or did you call to cancel the line??
