Fun fact, when you cross into USA within an hour you should get a text from PM welcoming you to the USA and linking you to the US service package addon.

Yes, your phone will work if you had a US Roaming Plan.  Good for 10 days.  Cost varies from $8 to $20 depending on what you need.  Ie. text only, talk, data, combination of any of them..... Add it on with your self serve account.
