Travel out of the country - How to keep my number

Hi, just wondering how can I keep my mobile phone number with a minimum plan just to receive text messages for verification purpose while I am travelling to the eastern side of the world or non-north-american country? Current options on the PM website doesn't accommodate my future plans cuz the data won't be useful if they are limited to North America, so I just want a very basic plan that allows me to receive text messages from Canada, any option I am not aware of? otherwise I will have to switch to another carrier, thanks

No service outside of this continent!

If you want to keep your number, select lowest costing plan if it is available to you and then either have autopay in place or suspend account and REMEMBER to log in around 85th day and pay the bill. No pay for 90+ days will close your account and you will lose your number.

How long you are leaving Canada? if more than 3 months,  consider to port out the line to Fongo,  a free service with $25 port in charge but free to port out after 3 months.  You can use Fongo all to make and receive calls and receive text for free (but add-on requires to send text).

Another one to consider is to port to TextNow

Your best option for worldwide connectivity would be to switch to an expensive Telus (or Bell/Rogers) plan with global roaming included

@yyds  Public mobile only  has roaming in the U.S. and Mexico . So if your headed to one of those 2 places or both then CAN/US /MEX plan will do the trick or you need add on for the U.S. if you don’t have CAN/US/MEX plan . Anywheres else in the world your best to get travel eSIM or buy local data sim for your trip
