Going to Europe soon for about 25 days and then the U.S. I won't be able to activate a U.S. roaming plan until I land in U.S. on November 16, 2025. But currently, whenever I want to log into Public Mobile to purchase add-ons, I receive an Eversafe code texted to my phone. How will I be able to purchase a U.S. roaming plan in the U.S. if my phone isn't activated (I assume I won't receive the Eversafe code). I noticed that the Eversafe feature has an option to add an alternate phone number and I added my sister's cell phone because I will be travelling with her and she has a Canada/U.S. plan. I logged out and looged back in thinking that it would prompt me as to which number I wanted the code sent to - but it didn't. Is it because I didn't wait long enough, or is this feature not working? Any help would be appreciated.

@robertmcyr wrote:Thank you. I went into Google and added the Authenticator App to my phone. Clicked the + button, took a scan, received a six digit code, and activated the 'Google Authenticator'. Apparently they say I will receive 2FA codes from Google even if my phone is in Airplane mode. So it looks like I will be able to tell PM that I never received the text msg. and to send me an email, which hopefully I will be able to access. I'll find out if it works on Nov. 16, 2025 when I try. Thanks again - I had no idea about any of this.
The codes generated by the google authenticator app do not require internet access. The algorithm is embedded in the app itself.

HI @robertmcyr
yes, the "Send an email" is the option
as said above, change your Google 2FA authentication from SMS to using Google Authenticator or send to your phone. Once this is changed, then it will work for your PM's 2FA to your Google email

Didn't work. I clicked that I did not receive the Eversafe code and it gave me three options: (1) send a new code; (2) send an email; (3) send a voicemail. I assume options (1) and (3) will simply send to my actual phone which won't be activated and as mentioned earlier option (2) to receive an email because Google also sends a text to my phone.

hi @robertmcyr
the link can be call "Didn't receive code" or "Resend code"
for Gmail login issue, instead of 2FA sms, try to change it to use Phone Authentication or use Google Authenticator, then you can login Gmail without worry about not receiving text

Hi. Don't expect to be able to log into my emails because Google also wants to send me a text whenever I try to access my emails from a new/different computer (i.e. my sister's computer once we arrive in Florida on November 16, 2025). However, I will log out of Public Mobile and try logging back in - I did not see any option that said "Cannot receive code", but I will look again. If there is this option, then maybe I can request Eversafe to send the code to the alternate phone number.

hi @robertmcyr
test if you can use email to receive the code.
When they send you the 2FA code, there is a link "Cannot receive code" , click that and see if you have Send email option and try it
