Since I've signed up for Public Mobile, many plans have come up that cost less than what I pay and include more yet they are only offered for new activations. Are there ever any deals for current subscribers or only to upgrade your existing plans?

@Wayworn 2-3 posts per month for 2 points sounds like a great reward IMO, I thought it would have required a bit more involvement. Don't forget you will also get your 5% Points-Back and not sure if you have any referrals and once a year we'll get 10 points on our anniversary so that will help speed the timeline up from 8 months hopefully 🙂

Thanks for the reply. I really don't need extra data since I don't use much, it was more so for the $5.00/month savings. I'm thinking it'll be a whole lotta hassle for the savings amount. But it's definitely a good work-around if someone has the patience to do that! Appreciate your feedback!!

That's kinda what I was wondering after reading some of the replies! Thanks for chiming in!!

Hi @eddieO
at least you can downgrade still:)
from the limited number of accounts I have, it is likely existing customers won't get the cheapest plans ($15/$19/$20). But it is not uncommon for people higher priced plans to get the $30, $35 plans to downgrade

Something interesting that I just thought of, I have the $34 Canada/US plan and when I go into my account to see other available plans the only cheaper one is for $30. I'm wondering, if one was to switch to their lowest available plan would they then be able to see a cheaper plan than that afterwards? For example, I switch to the cheaper $30 plan, would I then be offered at least one plan at a cheaper price point? 🤔

sorry @Wayworn , you are wrong again. I have plans that are lower price than my current one. So, you can downgrade too

@Wayworn wrote:As far as I and others can tell one can only upgrade. However an Oracle @computergeek541 has in the past posted that’s not the case.
Downgrades to lower priced plans are still possible, but it's only possible for some customers. Existing customers can only choose from plans offered to them, and in many cases, there are lower priced plans available than the current plan (it depends on what is offered to the specific customer and what the current plan is).

@LinCherni depending on how much your current plan costs, Public Mobile has been known to send personal offers to existing customers via SMS but these offers typically cost more than the existing plan but are considered better value since they would have more data. There's no way of knowing if or when a customer would get one of these offers. If you don't have any friend referrals (or not very many of them) one option could be to port out to another company and then wait a few days or so and then come back as a new customer. To do this you would need to sign up with a different email address and you would need to get a new SIM card. It's a bit of hassle but it's the only way to get the plans that are for new activations only. The only other option is to do as @BKNS27 has suggested and go into your account to see what plans are offered to you, what you will see is not the same as what others will see because again, it will be based on what your current plan costs.

You can login to your account on the PM app and go to Subscription>Manage Subscription>Change Subscription and there will be a list of all the plans that you are eligible for.
