Hi there! I’m new to PM and signed up for the $40 plan that includes 4.5GB, unlimited Canada wide talk, unlimited International text and 3G speed. I have no complaints so far but I am curious to know why my phone uses LTE instead of 3G? I’m by no means complaining but just wondered if it was a mixup or I just got lucky?
Thank you.

Also I believe new accounts start at 4G speed and are only throttled to "3G" speeds a couple of days in. Beware the trap of running speedtests to check, they can suck up a huge amount of data.

Although responsiveness (ping) will usually be slightly worse, setting your network on your phone to 3g will actually allow faster possible speeds. This is because for whatever reason, Public Mobile has not throttled the speeds of the 3g network.

@KristinaHoogs PM 3G is actually on LTE but throtlled to 3Mbps instead of full LTE.
