Keep getting unwanted voicemails

H, I was getting 1 phone call every day from someone I don't know.  And every time they would leave a blank voicemail.  I blocked the number so my phone doesn't ring but I still get a blank voicemail every day.  How can I make it stop?  It's always from the same number.

You can actually customize the number that manually declined or blocked numbers are routed to, instead of your voicemail by default. For example, you can route those calls to SaskTel's dialup internet line, so a blocked or declined caller receives a modem screeching instead of your voicemail. Maybe it will cause automated robodialers to flag your line in some way to not call again in the future... Anyway, if you like to try this here's the codes to dial:

To set, dial: *67*3069957000#

To reset/clear the setting, dial: ##67# or ##004#

You can test by having someone test calling and manually declining the call to see the result.

There's a chance the setting won't work since the network changes to VoLTE in the last few years, but the ability to customize conditional call forwarding has returned for myself at least after some tweaks...

There is a tone which tells computers the line is disconnected. I have recorded it onto my voicemail message, and it has reduced automated phishing calls (but not eliminated them). You can Google it, or it's on Wikipedia. Look for "Phone line disconnected tone".

HI @PopsTheLlama1

sorry, this is as much as you can do.  When you block someone, the number will still get routed to the voicemail.

Unless you "disable" the voicemail completely with a workaround, or you use a particular conditional forward (Like forwrding when no reply -- which will affect the legitimate callers as well)
