I am going to Jamaica in February. How can I continue to use my phone and data while I’m there?

Data - free wi-fi in designated areas and/or local prepaid SIM which includes data
Phone - if relying on available wi-fi, use a calling app or any app native to the device you own (i.e. iPhone Facetime, Android Duo or Meet)
Messaging - if relying on available wi-fi, Apple iMessage or Android Chat messaging apps included with device, again device specific

You can use WhatsApp or Fongo apps through (hotel) wifi for free calling and texting while in Jamaica.

You can't use Public Mobile plan in Jamaica. Public only serves Canada with roaming only in US and Mexico. To listen to the voicemail messages, you need to call your Public number from a different phone number and press * and type your voicemail passsword to get in.

Yes, customers can leave a message with your voicemail while traveling to Jamaica. With active service, voicemails can be received and would stay available for 10 days.

you can't use your Public Mobile service anywhere other than Canada or USA or Mx. You can buy a travel data sim on-line that should work with WhatsApp.

Unfortunately, Public mobile does not offer roaming services (besides US and Mexico). Your PM mobile phone number will not work in Jamaica. You will need to purchase a domestic SIM card, etc.
