Issue with porting with public mobile

Clruixue
Great Neighbour / Super Voisin

Hi there,

I recently decided to port to public and join this awesome community. However, I believe I missed the 90 mins verification text. I don't know how and who should I contract to restart this process.

Thanks.

@Clruixue I sent you a message with the phone number to reach the porting department.

I understand that's not a secret number any longer and can freely be posted here for all to see.

@hairbag1    Was there an official announcement from PM recently clarifying that this number can now be openly shared?

A PM contributor recently told me that the CSA's have told him that it's now ok to share that number openly.

@hairbag1   Not according to a recent post by @computergeek541 .    Perhaps this contributor would be willing to share this response from PM?

Hi there, this is the message I received and no one has contacted me.

Hey, it's Public Mobile. We're having trouble transferring your number. Looks like you entered an incorrect ESN/MEID. Someone from our team will contact you shortly using your original phone number or the alternate number provided. You can also get in touch via our virtual assistant at: https://publicmobile.ca.ada.support/chat

@Clruixue  no one will call you as there is only online Customer Support.

  1. Click on that link you provided.
  2. Then click "Click here to get there!"
  3. Type "Porting Issue"
  4. Select "I haven't received the authorization SMS"
  5. Select "It has been over 90 minutes"
  6. Select "Contact Us"
  7. Select "Click here to Submit a Ticket"

Log into your Community Account (not Self Serve account) so you can submit the ticket successfully.

A lot of steps to submit a ticket to re initiate the port, I know.

If all that is too much to get through you can also use this link to

@hairbag1 For the secret number,  isn't that PM might still wipe posts that contains the number??

Find the numbers required and wait to hear back from PM.

Does your old service still work? If yes leave your old sim in.

After a few hours, try contacting them here

Be sure to explain you are in a “mid process” situation.

@Clruixue

if you miss it to get a SMS message from your old carrier asking to confirm if you would like to port your number. Your reply should be: YES.

The confirmation message can take a few minutes to come in. You have 90 minutes from the time of request.

you can try reseat the SIM card and Make sure your phone is off before removing your SIM card,

1. power off your device

2. take out the SIM card,

3. waiting a 1 minute,

4. put it back and power on,

5. toggling airplane mode off/on,

and do Rebooting your phone,

*what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.
